Travel a Theme for Upcoming Entertainment Events – Cowichan Valley Citizen

Until August 21, in the space of the Cowichan Community Center of the Cowichan Valley Arts Council, a show titled “Inspired by Travel” features the colorful art of Rohana Laing, a United Church pastor in the retreat who has traveled extensively in Mexico. The exhibition is in the appendix.

From August 23 to September 8, “Mycelium Forest” takes center stage, featuring works by three artists from Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island. The works are inspired by mushroom motifs. You can also meet the artist on Monday, August 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the gallery.

Then, from August 27 to September 25, comes “Watershed: Through the Lens of Art”.

This show included works created by individuals and community groups that celebrate our ecosystem. The exhibition will open with a special event on Thursday, September 9 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.


Classic Car Adventures arrives in the Cowichan Valley, with all the fun and spectacle on wheels you can expect. On Friday August 20, the group is organizing a car rally from the Cowichan Regional Visitors Center, just outside of Duncan. Vehicles will meet at the center at 8:30 am for a 9:30 am departure, so start early if you want to see the vehicles before they leave.
