KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu government maintains clear guidelines for any party wishing to hold any event, especially entertainment in the state, to ensure they do not overdo it.

Ariffin Deraman, Chairman of the National Commission for Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology (pictures) said that the state government was ready to accept any organization of events, but that it had to take into account the sensitivities of religion and the state community.

“Holding programs/carnivals is welcome, but conditions must be set. If the state government doesn’t get the details of an event and something too much happens, it’s the state government that gets the criticism,” he said during a press conference in conjunction with Terengganu Jom Heboh Carnival 2022, here today.

He said that in addition to ensuring that each program adheres to established guidelines, the state government also hopes that visitors can ensure good behavior when attending a public event.

He added that the state government had received numerous requests for various entertainment programs to be held, including for filming at Terengganu, but some had to be rejected after considering the feelings of the local community. .

During the carnival which will be held from October 7 to 8 at Terengganu Sports Complex, Kuala Nerus, Ariffin said his office will coordinate it with the religious office and place officers to monitor the event.

“To protect the good reputation of the organizers and the state government, there are also people who volunteer to monitor the event to ensure it is decent with good attendance.

“The state government also hopes that relevant parties will take into account the sensitivities of Muslims as it comes a day before the Maulidur Rasul event,” he said.

Among the guidelines set for the program, only male artists are allowed to perform on stage, the selection of artists and songs must be approved by the state government, as well as separate spaces for families, men and women. the women.
