Drive By Fish Fry
WAKE FOREST – The Wake Forest Fire Department’s Drive By Fish Fry is scheduled for Friday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. or while supplies last. Drive-thru will be offered along Elm Avenue in front of Fire Station #1, 420 Elm Avenue. Each plate of fish will include generous portions of fried plaice, boiled potatoes, coleslaw and hush puppies. Plates are $11 each when purchased with a credit or debit card. Available only while supplies last, Fish Platters can be purchased on the day of the event with cash for $10 each. Proceeds will go to the Wake Forest Firefighters Foundation.
Senior Talent Show
WAKE FOREST — The Senior Network will host its first annual April Love Senior Talent Show at the Renaissance Center on Friday, April 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. Algia Motley, master of ceremonies. Pat Boone, honorary president will not be present.
Rolesville Business Saturday

Wake Forest Garden and Art Tour 2022
WAKE FOREST — Eleven magnificent gardens will be visible and each garden will host a talented local artist demonstrating their talent on Friday April 29 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday April 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. After party from 5 p.m.: 30 p.m. Garden tour tickets include food and wine at the after party on the grounds of the Wake Forest Museum, 414 N. Main St.
Tickets are $35 per person and go on sale March 15 at Page l58 Book Store, 415-B Brooks St., Southern Suds, 213 S. White St., NC Specialty Store, 150 S. White St. and in online at www .wfgardenclub.org. The deadline to purchase a ticket is Sunday, April 24. No tickets sold during the two days of the tour.
Scottish Highland Games
OXFORD – Buck Buchanan, owner of Lumpy’s Ice Cream in Wake Forest, hosted a Scottish Highland Games competition to benefit Central Children’s Home. The event – featuring competitive games, food and music – will be held on the campus of Central Children’s Home, 2111 Antioch Dr. in Oxford on Saturday April 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some 35 Scottish athletes from the Highland Games in North Carolina and beyond will compete. Suggested admission is $20.
Southeast Seminary Multi-Family Garage Sale
WAKE FOREST – The Seminary Housing Office is sponsoring a multi-family yard sale on Saturday, April 30 from 7-11:30 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Housing Office (located at the corner of Stadium Drive and N. Wingate Street). More than 30 participants usually sell items. All members of the community are invited to attend. Follow the garage sale signs placed around campus to find the specific location. Sale of library books
YOUNGSVILLE – Friends of the Youngsville Library will be hosting the Spring Book Sale on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library, 218 US-1A Highway South. The sale will continue on Monday and Tuesday, May 2 and 3, from noon to 6 p.m. Prices are $1 for hardbacks and 50 cents for paperbacks. Puzzles and DVDs will also be on sale. Dash 5k
ROLESVILLE — The Thorne to Rose Foundation will be sponsoring a 5k Dash on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., rain or shine. The organization promotes awareness to break the stigma of mental illness in BIPOC communities. Early bird registration is $20. Music and vendors will be on site. Runners and walkers welcome. This is a timed race for runners on a certified 5km course. Still accepting sponsors, vendors and donations. Vendor booths start at $25 and sponsorships start at $100.
Golf Tournament 2022
WENDELL – The 31st annual Wendell Chamber Classic Sticks and Steaks Golf Tournament will be held at Wendell Country Club on Friday, May 20 at 11 a.m. Player registration includes steak dinner, live band and post-tournament rewards. Five Counties Beef Tour
LOUISBURG — The Franklin County NC Cooperative Extension is hosting a morning tour of three farms followed by a BEEF-sponsored lunch on June 21. Workshops on forage variety test plots, marketing and genetics will also be included.
