The Glengarry Highland Games golf tournament hosted over 100 golfers

It wasn’t quite the Highland game or the caber throw, but over 100 Glengarry Highland Games fans donned their kilt to participate in one of the Scots favorite sports; Golf.

On Friday August 6, the Games held one of their few in-person events this year – the annual golf tournament at Glengarry Golf and Country Club. Players took the opportunity to join their friends on the course, which was adorned with Games flags on each green. The special treats from many holes were also appreciated – oatmeal cakes, butter tarts and homemade pies that were quickly devoured, while liquid samples were welcome in the heat.

Tournament organizer Bill Shields was delighted that over $ 3,000 was raised for the Games through the tournament. He also wanted to thank the many volunteers and sponsors who made the day such a success, with a special thanks to Helen Shields for baking the homemade treats, the volunteers at the event holes and the sponsors who provided prizes. for the closest to the pin on the par three holes.

The Games Tournament returns next year to its usual date, the Wednesday before the Games, which will take place on July 29 and 30. See you at the Games!
