In the early hours of this morning (Sunday 22 August 2021), crews were mobilized for a fire at an industrial unit in Stapleford Road, Trowell.
Andy Macey, Director of the NFRS Group, said:
“At the height of the incident, we had 12 fire trucks present as well as two ladder aerial platforms (ALP), a water tank and a high flow pump (HVP).
“We were supported during the incident by the Derbyshire and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Services. We have also worked with partner agencies there, including Public Health England, Severn Trent Water and the Environmental Agency. ‘

“We have been on the scene of the incident on Stapleford Road since the early hours of the morning.
“We currently have three fire engines left behind alongside the ALP and the HVP.
“I want to thank everyone on site for their hard work this morning, and a big thank you to the Derbyshire and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Services for their help and support.
“Stapleford Road will remain closed in both directions so we ask people to stay away from the area. “
Police closed a road as firefighters tackle a large blaze at an industrial unit.
“Officers were called in to assist fellow firefighters at the scene of the fire at Stapleford Road, Trowell, just before 1:20 am today (Sunday August 22, 2021).
Inspector Kylie Davies of Nottinghamshire Police said: ‘Stapleford Road has been closed at its junctions with Trowell Park Drive and Derbyshire Avenue and we are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
“If you are in the area and can see and smell the smoke, make sure your windows and doors are closed while the fire crews work hard on site to mitigate the blaze.”
