Jace (A255578) is a 2 year old tan mixed breed who came to us as a transferred owner on January 12th. According to his former owner, he is clean, knows some commands, loves children and is a playful and sweet boy. He is great on a leash and is always happy to get out of his kennel. We hope that the next time he comes out of his kennel, he will go to his forever home! Come meet Jace!

Roscoe (A2660009) is a 1 year 7 month old brown mixed breed who is such a nice little guy. He came to us as owner handed over Jan 22 and weighs 45 lbs. He’s a super nice guy who’s shy and food driven, which will make working out that much better for him! He is doing very well for all exams and interactions here! Come meet this cutie!

Excuse the grass-covered body, but Athena (A265934) LOVES to roll over, right behind hugs! This restless 3-year-old girl is looking for her forever home. She originally came to us as a stray on January 19 and is ready to reunite with her forever family. She loves treats, enjoys receiving love from her humans, and would love to find her forever human! Come meet this 60 pound cutie! Her adoption fees are SPONSORED!

This little cutie is Mickey (A266540)…he came to our house on February 9th and is ready to find his forever home. He has a lot of puppy energy and is very food-motivated, which should make his training easier! He is a clumsy little mixed-breed pup who weighs just under 35 pounds. Come meet Mickey!

Major (A266746) is a 3 year old tan mixed breed who is a happy and playful guy. He is good at baths and loves good treats. He is a nice boy who weighs just under 60 pounds. He has been here since February 17 and has come to see us like a stray dog. Please come meet Major!

Whimsey (A259076) is a precious little soul who is so sweet and gentle. She returned to us as an abandoned owner due to a change in life circumstances on February 18 and she was originally adopted by us in April 2021. Her previous owner noted that she was both good with children and other animals, very calm and gentle and is even trained both crate and house. This sweet 3 year old mixed race girl weighs 45 pounds and is waiting for you to fall in love with her!

Julie (A266575) came to our house as a stray on February 11 and is a cute little girl weighing 26 lbs. She’s 2 years old and a little nervous, but she’s super sweet. It’s a scary place for all dogs, but especially for the little ones like Julie. She hopes to find her forever home so she doesn’t have to stay here any longer. Come and meet little Julie!
All of this week’s pets have been spayed or neutered and are looking for their forever homes. Until Wednesday, all dog adoptions are $20; otherwise they are $80, unless otherwise specified. Currently, all dog adoption fees are $10. Cat adoptions are $65 unless otherwise specified. Come meet them.
Adoption hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, except holidays. Call 704-878-5424.
To become a volunteer, foster owner or both, visit co.iredell.nc.us/149/animal-services-control, call the volunteer coordinator at 704-878-5424, ext. 3507, or drop by the shelter for application from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Fostering is a great way to get dogs out of the shelter for a reprieve and a great opportunity to put them in front of potential adopters they might not see during their stay.
Iredell County Animal Services also holds road rage clinics on the second Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. The fee is $5, cash only. For more information, call the shelter at 704-878-5424.
