Jacksonville Adoptable Pets of the Week

Cold Noses, the Times-Union’s weekly pet column, features dogs and cats available for adoption at government-run animal shelters in the region.

Hopper is a mix of one and a half year old male terrier (identification number 60619). He is energetic and will do his best in a home without children. He needs a patient family who is willing to train him or send him to training courses.

Bells is a 2-year-old domestic short-haired cat (ID n ° 60993). She loves chin rubs and hugs.

Apollo is a 6 year old male mixed breed dog (ID n ° A-87). He is smart, loyal, and highly motivated by food. He knows the basic controls, walks well on a leash and enjoys being the center of attention.


Greyson is a 10 year old male shorthair domestic cat (ID n ° A-8610). He has a wonderful personality. He would love a house with comfy pillows to relax on and a high shelf where he could soak up the sun.

Mike is a 4 year old, 52 pound male mixed breed dog (A1302190). He is calm and gentle in his kennel and loves treats, playing and taking long naps. He’s deaf but doesn’t let it affect him at all. He is intelligent and can understand body language.


Beatrice is a 3 year old 7 pound domestic shorthair cat (A1308882). She’s grandiose and tends to put on a show. She is popular with shelter staff.
