Inverness Highland Games will host a charity relay this Saturday
A special relay will take place at the Inverness Highland Games on Saturday, raising money for four Highland charities.
Mikeysline, The Highland Hospice, Poppy Scotland and MFR’s Cash for Kids will all compete in the 4x100m race in downtown Bught Park.
Chief Games Officer and Provost of Inverness Cllr Glynis Sinclair said: “This new addition of a charity relay event to the Inverness Highland Games is a great way for the local community to support good local causes whilst also supporting ‘fun and having fun.’
High Life Highland Chairman Mark Tate added: “We want the Inverness Highland Games to showcase our city and its people, and this platform gives us an incredible opportunity to do that.
“As part of this, we want to highlight the incredible work charities are doing in the region and it also provides a great fundraising opportunity.
“We intend to make this an annual event that any local charity can attend.”
There are still two lanes available in the charity race, and High Life Highland welcomes contacts from charities who wish to participate.
