How to celebrate popular dog names in Louisville

If you have a Charlie, a Bella, or a Bailey nestled in your lap or asleep at your feet, you certainly have a lucky dog.

National Dog Day is August 26. and in honor of all pet parents and their furry babies, we’ve got your list of the top 10 dog names and breeds for 2021 and ways to celebrate the special day in Louisville.

Survey its database of more than 600,000 insured pets, Trupanion, a pet medical insurance company, found that after placing third in 2020, dogs named “Bella” peaked with the most popular name in 2021. The new names on the list this year include Molly and Lola.

The special day honors all breeds as well, and it is indeed the adorable mixed breed that still tops the charts. After that, the Labrador Retriever leads the pack in the most popular breed in 2021 – a lead they’ve enjoyed for decades.

How to celebrate National Dog Day in Louisville

No matter what breed or name your precious doggie is, everyone is welcome to attend a special event on August 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Club K9, a dog-focused dog bar and dog park that includes over an acre of off-leash area, an additional 10,000-square-foot four-season park, and a playground. Club K9 is located at 9316 Taylorsville Road in Louisville.

The pet fundraiser is a collaboration with Kentucky Humanitarian Society, Pet food, Tito’s Vodka, Club K9 and Louisville Metro Animal Services.

Have dinner and drinks from “All the smoked barbecue”, Which will have its food truck on site and many tasty drinks at the bar. Proceeds from beverage sales and raffles will be donated to the Kentucky Humane Society and Louisville Metro Animal Services.
