Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games: Tickets for the 2022 event are on sale now

Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games organizers have announced the event is set to return in 2022 after a two-year hiatus – and tickets are on sale now.

The event will return to the grounds of Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Football Club in Ardencaple on Saturday June 4 after the pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 gatherings.

Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., visitors of all ages can participate in and watch traditional activities such as Highland dancing, track racing for children and adults, solo tubing, and the ever-popular heavy sporting events, including the throwing of the hammer throw and pitch up.

Sir Malcolm Colquhoun, the chief of the Colquhoun clan, will be the leader of the Games.

As in previous years, there will be no on-site parking available, but a free shuttle service will run between the Games site and the city center throughout the day.

The history of the Highland Games in Helensburgh dates back to 1889, but the more modern version was launched in 2007.

Although still in its infancy, it’s proving to be a popular event for locals and visitors to the area – and in 2011 it even featured on the flagship BBC program The One Show.
