JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – If you are looking for a new best friend, you have a chance to get one for FREE!
Wednesday through Friday, adoptions are free at the Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care and Protection Services, as available kennels are at capacity for both shelters, especially for large dogs.
VyStar Credit Union pays for adoptions at JHS and ACPS waives its adoption fees.
“We hope that with the support of our friends and neighbors, as well as the help of our generous partners at VyStar Credit Union, we can overcome this temporary hurdle and move forward in May with even more animals finding new loving homes.” , said JHS. CEO Denise Deisler.
So far this year, the JHS has transferred 128 animals into its custody from CSGA. It is also caught in 1,071 strays.
JHS said that when full capacity is reached, it is difficult to provide relief to CSPA.
You can adopt a pet from the Jacksonville Humane Society at 8464 Beach Blvd. or at Animal Care and Protection Services at 2020 Forest Street. Weekday hours for both locations are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. ACPS is closed on Mondays. JHS is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and ACPS is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
