German Shepherd Mix Named Hercules Needs a Home: He’ll “Steal Your Heart”

A dog in Los Angeles looking for a new family is aptly named brave.

Hercules, a two-year-old German Shepherd mix, is currently being adopted from the Best Friends Animal Society in West Los Angeles.

The young pup originally came to Best Friends from Merced County Animal Services in California.

The Best Friends staffers shared with Fox News Digital that Hercules may seem a bit shy at first – but would-be adopters shouldn’t be fooled.

“He will absolutely steal your heart with his sweet attitude,” the shelter team said.

“He’s super smart and loves training.”

Hercules already knows how to walk on a leash. He loves playing with toys and splashing around in swimming pools.

As much as the German Shepherd mix also enjoys playing with its humans, it also enjoys playing with other dogs.

“Hercules is an absolute dog’s dream,” the Best Friends staff said.

The Best Friends Animal Society will hold its annual Strut Your Mutt fundraising walk in Los Angeles on October 22.

The event – back for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic – raises funds to save the lives of homeless pets in a bid to ensure the country does not kill animals. 2025, according to a press release on the special occasion.

The event will be hosted by Californian comedians Galina Rivera and Julia Austin, along with actress and pet adoption advocate Lauren Ash, who will provide on-site inspiration.

“Entrants are also eligible to win the Best Kisser, Best Costume and Best Trick contests and strut around with the Best Friends swag,” the statement details.
