Call of Duty Warzone in-game event to raise funds for Veteran Medics
The Call of Duty Endowment, the nonprofit charity that helps military veterans, is hosting an in-game event in Call of Duty: Warzone to raise money to support veteran medics and hospital soldiers as part of Military Appreciation Month. Additionally, a new DLC pack for Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is also being sold to raise funds for the cause.
The event is the Revival Challenge. Starting today, April 30, through May 9, resuscitating five people in Warzone will unlock a new Call of Duty Endowment calling card. If a million players unlock this map, a double XP day will be held for all players in Warzone. In addition, for each completed Revival Challenge, Activision Blizzard has pledged to donate $ 1 to the charity, up to $ 1,000,000.
In the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone store, you’ll find the Call of Duty Endowment Combat Handout Pack, which contains doctor-themed skins and trinkets. These were created in partnership with retired Army veteran Timothy Hobbs Jr., and all net proceeds from the sale of the packs are donated to the Foundation. The goal is to raise $ 2,000,000 from these packs.
Finally, a new login screen for Warzone will be dedicated to Staffing and Military Appreciation Month, and will be displayed during the first ten days of May.
For 2021, Call of Duty Endowment’s focus for Military Appreciation Month is veteran medics and soldiers, who are struggling to find civilian jobs in medical fields despite the experience and training of their time in forces. Money raised during the #CODEMedicalHeroes campaign will be used to “showcase the hugely skilled veterans who currently have the skills to fill these positions.”
