Bangor Humane Society temporarily shortens its hours

BANGOR– The Bto worry Humane Society asks for the public patience as they move to a limited schedule after a Covid outbreak among their staff.

The Bto worry Humane Society is usually open 12-6pm six days a week to pair humans with their new furry best friend, but at this time they will only be open 12-3pm.

The shelter says a member of their animal care staff came down with Covid and the disease has spread to five other members of the animal care team. Now that job falls to other staff.

Kathryn Ravenscraft, Director of Development and Communications, said: “That means our reception staff who also help with things in the back, but now the responsibility for that kind of falls on them and we just can’t manage to do both customer service and the animal care, so we prioritize. »

Reduced hours mean other staff can focus on animal care in the meantime. They hope to resume normal hours next week.

Ravenscraft says the shortened hours do not affect donation deposits. You can always drop blankets, pet food, and other essentials at the front of the building. They still need those gifts.
