ANIMAL TALK: Eighty-seven pets adopted by Humane Society in November | Talking about animals

Each month we love to share our adoption numbers with all of Greeneville Sun’s Animal Talk readers. We cannot help but feel very blessed for all the support you give to the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society. It is with your support that we are able to care for the many homeless and unwanted dogs and cats in Greene County.

During the month of November, 87 dogs and cats were adopted in our Adoption Center. Many of these dogs and cats were previously found at the Greene County Animal Control Facility. How exciting that these dogs and cats now have “forever” homes! Thank you to everyone who chose to adopt a dog or cat in need of a loving home, and thank you to all of our Humane Society supporters for helping these unwanted dogs and cats find a happier new life!

Our annual Trim-A-Tree fundraising campaign is well underway. We’re thrilled because this fundraising effort is one of our biggest fundraisers every year.

All members of the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society should have received our Annual Christmas Letter and Trim-A-Tree Label Ornament in the mail. This ornament tag can be returned with a photo, design or the name of your pet (s) with your donation. The images and tags are then used to decorate our beautiful Christmas tree, which can be viewed at the Humane Society Adoption Center located at 950 Hal Henard Road.

As Christmas arrives we have one of the most beautifully decorated trees you can imagine.

Not a member yet? No problem! We want you to become a part of our Christmas celebration. All you have to do is call our staff at the Adoption Center at 423-639-4771 and we will send you our letter with an ornamental label to fill in or decorate, and we will happily place it on our tree. of Christmas. You can also stop by our Adoption Center from Tuesday to Saturday between noon and 3 p.m. for your Christmas letter and ornament.

It’s friends like you who are willing to give of their time and support, who make a difference in the lives of dogs and cats who have been hit hard by life through no fault of their own. Homeless dogs and cats housed in our adoption center deserve to have fresh food and water, veterinary care and a warm place to rest at night. Your support allows us to provide that to them. Our mailing address is GGCHS, PO Box 792, Greeneville, TN 37744. You can also donate online at

To start celebrating this holiday season, we’re excited to share some of our ‘coming home’ adoption photos. These dogs and cats will celebrate Christmas in their “furever” homes. We are very grateful for these adoptions, especially this holiday season.

In closing, remember that we cannot do what we do without your support!
